Listening to the Rain in the Azores

The Azores are often introduced through their grandest views: crater lakes, green ridges, Atlantic horizons. On São Miguel, a bank of cloud can change the scale of a day. Rain stipples a window; the landscape becomes less a lookout and more a room you are invited to inhabit.
